We have been recycling more by going around and picking up cans and bottles to make sure they get into the recycle bin. Also, by conserving energy by turning off the lights during the day and open the blinds for natural sunlight.

I’m without a car this summer, so my options are biking, walking, or carpooling. Luckily I live in a small town where it’s easy to get around, and I have experience being carless in the past for environmental reasons. 🙂

We started a garden in raised beds using reclaimed lumber. We use a rain barrel for watering with a timer backup for vacations/out-of-town trips. I am cooking from scratch more, which means less prepackaged boxes/bags for the family. The boys are responsible for sorting and placing recycling curbside every week.
