My 6 month old (aka Chunky Monkey) has just about outgrown his infant carrier and we have been on the hunt for a car seat, putting Safety First of course. There is no compromising when it comes to our children’s safety. Secondly, I wanted a car seat that would last until he outgrows the need for one at all.
I take researching products before I buy them very seriously. When it comes to products that deal with the safety of my children, you can multiply my researching by 100! While on my search and deep research, I came across the Safety 1st Advance 70 Air+ online at Target. It definitely caught my eye because it’s unique design and great safety features. Also, it can be used rear facing for children 5-40 lbs. and forward facing for children 22-70 lbs.
I was given the opportunity to review this car seat and I am glad to share the Safety 1st Advance 70 Air+ Convertible Car Seat with you. As well as, offer you a chance to win one!
This convertible car seat just came out in May and has a very cool safety technology story. This car seat has 100% full body protection as it combines Air Protect Technology with GCell HX technology. GCell HX is the same safety technology you’ll find in Indy Cars such as the car Scott Dixon drives. OK, honestly I don’t follow Indy so I didn’t know who Scott Dixon was, but like I said before I am a crazy researcher when it comes to these things. Needless to say, I know of him now. Anyways, I think using technology from racing cars safety features is genius!
When we received the car seat my first impression was, “WOW, now that’s a CAR SEAT!” It does look large but the base is small so it did fit in my in my car. If you have a very small car I would suggest checking the dimensions first. The arrival of the car seat brought on one unforeseen conflict! My 3 year old loves it because it is so plush and comfy and the head rest (his pillows). Now he wants one just like it! So if you have older children be aware this car seat will cause “Car Seat Envy”!
Safety 1st Advance 70 Air+ Convertible Car Seat will grow with your child 5lbs-70lbs. It could work for all 3 of my boys; 6, 3, and 6 months.
4-position recline for optimal fit to your car, and comfort for infants. I love how easy it is to change how much I want my baby to be reclined. The newborns would be reclined all the way and as they get older you can easily start moving them to a more upright position.
You do not have to re-thread harness! This is great and one of my favorite features. If you have ever had to do this then you know how awesome this feature is! This is possible because of the adjustable 10-position headrest so no need re-thread harness. Repositioning the headrest is super simple too! Just squeeze the labeled area and either pull up or push down.
It was very easy to install because it is LATCH equipped.
I also love the Integrated cup holder because you usually lose on or more cup holders when installing a car seat.
Safety features are awesome.
Full body protection for you child with the Air Protect® advanced cushion system protects your child’s head. I know they are there for protection, but they make great built in pillows for your child to rest their little heads on!
GCell HXTM foam and designed with hexagonal shapes for superior protection around the torso.
Has steel-reinforced metal frame for extra stability.
The Safety 1st Advance 70 Air+ Convertible Car Seat is a great car seat! This would be a great and safe car seat for any little one!
