Make Your Period a Breeze with SckoonCup a Menstrual Cup

I thought I had “greened” everything in my home but apparently I missed one thing that comes once a month. I never thought to look into a healthier or a more effective way to handle my period.

I began to look into mama cloth and then menstrual cups and I had many options. The one that stood out to me was SckoonCups because I do prefer tampons over pads and after reading many reviews they seemed to be a more comfortable option compared to other menstural cups. Also, it’s safe, reusable, environmentally friendly, and pretty, too!

SckoonCup is a menstrual cup with advanced molding technology and design. Smooth outer curve without any bumps, easy to clean suction holes for maximum capacity and comfort. Along with a squishy soft cup and super flexible stem…all for your ultimate comfort.

SckoonCup’s Superior Features – No seams, a smoother rim, and no writing inside or out, for comfort and faster clean-up. – High capacity, angled suction holes, and aesthetically pleasant. – A slimmer, softer stem for your comfort, with a solid design to make insert/removal & cleaning simple.

Size 1: Small, for women who haven’t previously given birth vaginally. Capacity 23ml,
Size 2: Large, for women who have given birth vaginally. Capacity 30ml,

I am so happy that my first experience with a menstrual cup was the SckoonCup I have heard of horrible experience with other mensural cups: uncomfortable, leaking, hard to clean….  I am happy to say that my period is greener and will continue to be because I plan on using the SckoonCup from now on!

My Experience:

After reading the directions thourghly I was a little nervous to get started. I folded the cup into a “C” fold and inserted it; this is the basic fold that most women use. If you make the “C” fold  shape too wide the cup may not easily pop open.  Luckily, I did not have any issues with this and The SckoonCup was easy to insert and remove for me.

Removal is very simple because of the flexible stem. You simple have to break the seal by squeezing the bottom portion of the cup and then pull on the stem. This was not very messy because the part you actually touch is pretty clean. Once it is removed you pour the cup into the toilet.

Also, it was very comfortable to wear; I actually think  it’s more comfortable than a tampon. I honestly could not feel it.

You can wear the SckoonCup up to 12 hours. I had no leaks after wearing all day.  I also wore it overnight with no leaks.

Sckoon Cup Features

Cleaning it was super easy because of the design; there are no spots that are hard to get to. Here are the directions from Sckoon’s website:
Wash your menstrual cup carefully after its last use during your period and store it, properly ventilated, in its own storage bag. Do not store the menstrual cup in a hermetic container or plastic bag. Between your periods, disinfect the cup for 2-5 minutes by boiling it in a large amount of water. You can also disinfect it during your period if you want.
